INTERCEPTOR with FENDOZIN®

Fast-Acting, Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets

INTERCEPTOR long-lasting insecticide nets demonstrate how BASF leadership in textile development and agricultural products combine to prevent disease. These nets use a unique textile finishing product, FENDOZIN®, which blends a proprietary polymer with FENDONA® , a fast-acting BASF insecticide used on mosquito nets.

FENDOZIN impregnates and clings to the polyester fibers of the netting, even after numerous washings. The insecticide is slowly released from the surface of the coating, repelling, knocking down and killing malaria-transmitting mosquitoes.

Why Use INTERCEPTOR nets?

Insecticide-treated nets can dramatically reduce the incidence of vector-borne diseases like malaria. One challenge, though, is the need to re-treat the nets after several washes. In contrast, INTERCEPTOR nets protect sleepers even after 20 washes, and study results indicate that they provide 100% knockdown at one-hour post exposure meaning all mosquitos are paralyzed after contact with the net and unable to transmit malaria.

In addition, INTERCEPTOR nets washed 20 times still achieved 99% mosquito mortality and inhibited bloodfeeding by 100%.

What are the benefits of INTERCEPTOR nets?

  • Very fast knockdown and high insect mortality
  • Effectively intercept mosquitoes before they can do harm
  • Long lasting
  • Odorless, pleasant and invisible
  • Cost effective protection of families
